How AI, Decision AI and research work together, what requires approval, how credits work, and where to get help.
Is there a free version?+
Yes. Period Trader Free is $0, forever: chart and manual trading, MT5, Binance and Bybit connections, account risk guards, the Trade Journal and 1 research bot you can deploy. Pro adds unlimited research bots, the PeriodTrader AI assistant and AI indicators, Decision AI, Structured Earn, the remote console, notifications and reports, custom strategies and ad-hoc backtests. Pro starts with a 14-day free trial, then $24.99 USD per month unless you cancel. Download the app with no account, then sign in with Whop in the app to pick Free or start the trial.
What can I create with AI?+
Custom strategies with tunable parameters, supported chart indicators, backtests, research sweeps, deployment plans, risk check-ups, trade reports and market briefs. Assistant changes are proposals you review and approve.
What is Decision AI?+
Specialized decision models return structured assessments for entries, deployment checks, market conditions, bot health, closed-trade reviews, manual-ticket opinions and alerts. It complements the assistant and research; it does not replace either.
Does AI trade without my approval?+
The assistant requires approval for changes. Separately, auto-deploy can deploy passing eligible research results if you enable it, and running bots can trade under their configured rules. Decision AI itself cannot open trades, increase size or move stops.
How do Shadow and Veto differ?+
Shadow records the assessment without enforcing it. Veto can refuse a flagged bot entry or deployment when enabled. Manual-ticket opinions and exit advice do not execute orders. If Decision AI is unavailable or has no credits, normal platform rules apply without its check.
Are AI calls unlimited?+
No. Chat, Create, voice input and Decision AI use one shared AI credit balance. Check the balance and usage in the app. Do not assume a fixed allowance or unlimited inference from the software subscription price.
Does everything stay on my PC?+
No. Research and backtests run locally, but AI processing is external and can include prompts, supplied code, voice input and relevant market/account context. Connected brokers, exchanges and other services receive data needed for their work. Never put passwords or API secrets in prompts.
Can AI-created custom strategies trade live?+
Not currently. Custom strategies can be validated, backtested and researched in single-strategy mode. Live execution is available for supported built-in strategies. An indicator is a chart visual, not a strategy.
Is this a signal service or a profit promise?+
No. It is software for your research, analysis and configured execution. AI can be wrong, and model confidence is not a guarantee. Historical, optimized and example results do not establish future returns.
Do I need MetaTrader 5 or exchange keys?+
MT5 trading needs a compatible local terminal. Live crypto and exchange products need your own supported exchange connection. Research does not require live trading access; venue availability depends on your account and location.
Does AI replace the research engine?+
No. AI helps create, explain and review. The research engine still runs parameter sweeps and backtests; validation, live-cost checks and your risk settings still matter.

A walkthrough of the real interface: connect an account, launch a research run, read the results and deploy a bot. Recorded on a tester account.
Demo account. Figures shown in the video are simulated results on tester data, not live trading.
